On. 25th February 2025, an incident took place early in the morning at the Swargate bus stand, a 26-year-old woman, who works as a counselor at the hospital, was waiting for the bus of Satara’s Phaltan to return home inside the immobile transport bus. The rapest was already alleged in the past. The culprit was of 36-year-old named Dattatraya Ramdas Gade from Pune.
The rowdy sheeter Dattatraya Ramdas Gade was out of bail in 2019 and had cases against him of theft and chain snatching, officially informed by Swargate police station.

An innocent 26-year-old Woman waiting for Satara’s Phaltan bus, early morning at the Swargate bus stand, faced an unpredictable phase of her life. While she was waiting for the bus, the unknown man came towards her, calling her ‘didi'(sister). He told her to lie that the Satara bus arrived at another platform, by telling her, he took her towards an empty MSRTC ‘shiv shahi’ AC bus. She was hesitating to get in because there was no light in it, but Gade convinced her anyhow. As she entered the bus, wearing a mask he followed her, allegedly raped her, and escaped from that place. CCTV captured everything, which helped the police a lot.

Pune police in search of accused Dattatraya Ramdas Gade set up a Search Operation.

On Thursday, in search of the accused, Pune police deployed 13 teams at different locations in Pune and Ahilyanagar districts in Maharashtra. 100 members of Pune City and Pune Rural Police and sniffer dogs and drones were also deployed as a search operation in Gunat village so that they find the accused as soon as possible. This search operation was within the tracts of sugarcane fields located in Shirur tehsil in Pune district.Later on, police also announced the reward of ₹1 lakh for giving the information of Gade, said Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, per PTI.On Thursday midnight, the accused gade left Gunat village, around 1:10 am. People from Gunat village helped in catching the criminal and finally, he was arrested after completing the formalities by the Pune police in Shirur tehsil.
