Australia has already experienced a lot of excitement around ticket sales this year, especially for cricket matches. And now, cricket fans are getting ready for more as the most sought-after tickets for the summer season will be available starting tomorrow, June 4th.
The highly anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy series, consisting of five Test matches, and the women’s Ashes, including a historic day-night Test at the MCG, are expected to be very popular among cricket fans. Corporate hospitality options have been in high demand, and ticket prices for men’s international matches will start at $30 for adults and $10 for kids, remaining unchanged for the ninth consecutive summer. Fans registered with Cricket Australia will have priority access to tickets during a pre-sale period, which not only gives them the first opportunity to buy tickets but also offers better prices compared to the general public on-sale.
Supporters who have registered their details will have a 10-day period where they get priority access to buy tickets before the general public. After this period, any tickets that are left will be available for everyone to buy starting on June 14th.
Family, concession, and child tickets are available for certain seating categories (B to E) at all Test venues. To manage the expected high demand for tickets, sales will start at staggered times across the country. Tickets for all matches will go on sale at 11 am local time for each venue. However, for the Adelaide day-night Test, tickets will be available at 11:30 am AEST, and for matches in Perth, tickets will be available from 1 pm AEST. During the priority pre-sale period, individuals can only purchase up to 19 tickets. For groups of 20 or more, Cricket Australia has a dedicated team to assist, reachable at premiumsales@cricket.com.au
Tickets for women’s international cricket matches are expected to be in high demand this summer. Australia will host New Zealand in September and India in December for a series of matches before the women’s Ashes series begins in mid-January. The cheapest tickets for all women’s internationals will be $20 for adults and $5 for kids, but during the priority pre-sale period, adult tickets can be purchased for $17. Australia will also play three T20I matches against New Zealand in Mackay and Brisbane as part of their preparation for the women’s T20 World Cup. Later, they will host India for two ODIs in Brisbane and one at the WACA Ground in Perth between December 5th and 11th.
Women’s internationals
The Ashes series will feature different formats of cricket matches. It begins with three One Day Internationals (ODIs) at North Sydney, Melbourne’s Junction Oval, and Hobart’s Bellerive Oval. Following the ODIs, there will be three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches at the SCG, Manuka Oval, and Adelaide Oval. The series concludes with a Test match under lights at the MCG, starting on January 30th.During the priority pre-sale period, ‘A Reserve’ seating at the MCG for the Test match is priced at $43, but it will increase to $50 once tickets go on general sale.
This summer, Cricket Australia has created special fan zones for supporters of the Indian and Pakistani cricket teams. These zones are part of CA’s Multicultural Action Plan, aiming to provide inclusive experiences for fans from diverse backgrounds. The fan zones will be operational during the limited-overs series against Pakistan in November and the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series throughout the summer. In these fan zones, supporters of the Indian and Pakistani teams can gather together in dedicated seating areas. Fans are encouraged to wear blue for India or green for Pakistan and bring flags and traditional instruments like the dhol (double-sided drum). For matches featuring Pakistan, the fan zones will also offer prayer areas and a selection of halal food.
Ticket prices for these fan zones vary depending on the match format and venue, ranging between $30 and $60.
