A security officer, named Kulwinder Kaur, reportedly hit Kangana Ranaut, a well-known actor and newly-elected Member of Parliament, at the Chandigarh airport. This happened because Kaur felt that Ranaut was disrespecting farmers. Kaur has been arrested, and she was suspended from her job. Ranaut was heading to Delhi when the incident occurred
The security officer mentioned that she got upset because Kangana Ranaut had made a comment in the past about farmers protesting. Ranaut had said something about farmers protesting for money, and this offended the security officer because her own mother was part of those protests. So, when she saw Ranaut at the airport, she reacted strongly.
After the incident, Kangana Ranaut posted a video on social media explaining what happened at the airport. She said that a female security guard hit her while she was going through security check and started using bad language. When Ranaut asked why she was hit, the guard said it was because she supports farmers. Ranaut mentioned feeling safe but expressed concern about increasing terrorism in Punjab and how to deal with it.
Kangana Ranaut deleted the post where she talked about the airport incident. The farmers’ protest that started in 2020 and lasted into 2021 gained a lot of attention worldwide. Ranaut criticized the protests many times, questioning if they were valid and often criticizing the protesters themselves.
While she was running for office, people protesting against her views blocked Kangana Ranaut’s group of vehicles in Chandigarh.
