N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) seems to be winning in Andhra Pradesh’s Assembly elections. They’re making a comeback, and they teamed up with the BJP and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party. Mr. Naidu will become Chief Minister again on June 9, and Prime Minister Modi will be there. The TDP is celebrating at its headquarters. In Odisha, the BJP is doing well, while Naveen Patnaik’s BJD is not doing as well. The vote counting started at 8 am for both states.
In Odisha, there are 147 seats in the Legislative Assembly, and people voted for both Lok Sabha and assembly elections at the same time from May 13 to June 1. The ruling Biju Janata Dal, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, is trying to win again after being in power for over 24 years. They’re contesting all 147 seats. The BJP, Congress, and CPI(M) are also contesting.
In Andhra Pradesh, there are 174 seats in the Assembly. The YSRCP, led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, wants to stay in power and is contesting all seats alone. The TDP, led by N Chandrababu Naidu, is contesting 144 seats. Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party and the BJP are also in the race.
